Some children and young people face particular challenges in their daily lives. They experience conflicts in the family, struggle with school requirements, or have difficulty finding their place in their social environment. This is where parental assistance / care assistance – as individual support that focuses on the child or young person and at the same time includes the family environment.

This outpatient support service is aimed at young people who in dealing with developmental tasks, in dealing with conflicts or in need special support to cope with everyday lifeTogether with them and their families, we develop sustainable solutions and promote social and emotional skills.

Goals of care assistance

The goal of parental support or childcare assistance is to strengthen young people—in their self-esteem, their independence, and their ability to resolve conflicts constructively. We accompany them on their journey to cope with difficult situations and develop new perspectives for their lives.

At the same time, we actively involve parents, relatives and important caregivers in order to to strengthen family relationships and to enable sustainable change.

When does child custody make sense?

Care assistance can be helpful in the following cases, among others:

  • Conflicts with parents or other caregivers
  • Lack of social skills or contact problems
  • school refusal, learning or training problems
  • Crime, drug use, running away
  • Psychological stress or problems coping with life

How do we work?

Our social education professionals work over a longer period of time continuous, reliable and individual with the child or young person. The focus is on a trusting relationship in which young people learn to recognize their own strengths, take responsibility, and develop future prospects.

We also offer:

  • Case work at school, in leisure time or with family
  • Supervised parent meetings and counseling
  • Networking with schools, training, authorities or advice centers

Place and framework of assistance

As a rule, childcare assistance takes place outreaching take place in the child's or young person's environment: at home, at school or in the neighborhood. Our Consulting rooms in Kreuzberg and Neukölln are also available for discussions and meetings.
