Individual, collective, strong –
Care with concept at the Jenaplanschule Neukölln
Family gGmbH has been a cooperation partner of the Jenaplanschule Neukölln for over 14 years for supplementary care and support (formerly after-school care).
The Jenaplanschule Neukölln has over 300 students. The all-day care program provides afternoon care for approximately 230 children in grades 1 to 6.
The Jenaplan School Neukölln works according to the reform pedagogical concept of the Jenaplan according to Peter Petersen. It focuses on the child and promotes independent learning, collaborative work and mixed-age learning. The basis is the four pillars: Conversation, work, play and celebration – they shape everyday school life and create a strong community.
Open all-day care is an important educational element of the inclusive all-day school. Here, children can be supported and encouraged in additional areas of development. In Berlin, supplementary support and care (after-school care) is provided free of charge for grades 1 to 3; for grades 4 to 6, the service remains subject to a fee. The legal basis for this can be found in the School Act, the Student Support and Care Ordinance, and the Daycare Cost Participation Act.
As full-day care Family gGmbH We accompany the children of the Jenaplanschule Neukölln through the afternoon with heart, commitment, and creativity. Our goal is to create a space where every child feels comfortable, can develop, and grow – in community, through play, and through learning.

What's happening with us
After school, we offer the children a structured yet leisurely environment. There's time for relaxation, rest, and free play—both indoors and outdoors—as well as targeted activities and projects that connect with the children's interests. Our educational professionals work closely with the school to make everyday life lively, caring, and diverse.
Our program
Musical and creative projects
Music, theater, crafts, painting – with us, children can let their creativity run wild. Whether it's drumming, music projects, short plays, or art projects with changing themes: we encourage every child's expression, imagination, and self-confidence.
movement and sport
Physical activity is especially important to us! We use the schoolyard, the park, and the gymnasium for sports games, dance classes, exercise workshops, and small tournaments. The focus isn't on performance, but on the joy of physical activity, team spirit, and fair play.
Arts & Crafts
Whether clay, wood, paints, or fabrics – in our workshops, children can experiment with different materials and create their own little works of art. Creativity meets craftsmanship!
Nature and research
We go on a journey of discovery together: in nature, with experiments, or small research projects. In doing so, we encourage curiosity and a sense of wonder about the world.
Social projects & participation
Children actively participate in our work: in children's conferences, in project planning, and in everyday life. Democracy, respect, and compassion are integral parts of our coexistence.
Our rooms
Individual, lively and designed with love
Our all-day care takes place at three locations outside of the school and in a group room directly in the school building. Each location offers the children unique opportunities for development: At one location, a small external cafeteria is creatively converted in the afternoons – here, children paint, craft, and design. Another location invites active exploration and exploration with a construction room, exercise room, and foosball room. The third location offers plenty of space for shared play and quiet moments, with a cozy living room full of books and board games, a workshop, and a small backyard with a ping-pong table – which we share with the neighborhood. The experiences we offer the children every day are as diverse as the rooms.
